Digital Fundraising Campaign

In sub-Saharan Africa more than 630 million people live without electricity. Siemens created a donation platform for employees to support an initiative fighting this lack with a decentralized approach.

The Task

Make Siemens employees aware of the opportunity to donate money for a good cause and keep track of the impact of the donation. Design and implement a digital fundraising campaign in three phases (pre-donation, donation and post-donation phase).

The Solution

Pre-donation phase

Set the topic and build a credible basis and raise awareness amongst employees and friends

Make Siemens employees aware of the lack of access to reliable and affordable electricity supply, and its importance for socio-economic growth. Underline the key aspect of providing technology and share of according knowledge.

Donation phase

Provide further information about the project and invite to the donation

By showing that transparent and decentralized structures can be created with the use of smart contracts and blockchain technology, we provided interested employees with solution strategies. We directed their focus to the unique opportunity to participate by donating.
